The Forest Where Monsters Live - Chapter 0

Prologue

“Hah…!”

The woman on top of the man straightened her back and began swaying her hips.

She ground herself against him, her full, rounded butto¢ks moving rhythmically. Each motion drew a groan from the man beneath her.

Her slick arousal dripped down, soaking him, each thrust producing a lewd, wet sound.

“Hh—ah! Now… put it in… put it in…!” she panted, desperate.

At her plea, the man gripped her hips and spread them wider. His length plunged deep into her already drenched core.

“Ah!”

As he thrust upward, her back arched. He seized her waist, slamming her down onto him in time with his movements. A broken cry tore from her throat.

“Hah—!”

Still holding her, he flipped her onto her back. Now pinned beneath him, she gasped as he hooked her legs over his shoulders and drove into her with brutal force.

“Ah! Hah—!”

Her breasts bounced with each ruthless thrust, his hands squeezing them roughly.

“Ah! Ngh! Aah—!”

She screamed shamelessly, lost in the heat.

They only separated when their ragged breaths filled the room, bodies spent.

“The key?”

The man sat up, grabbing a nearby bottle of liquor and eyeing her.

“Of course I got it.”

“How much treasure is there?”

“More than you could imagine. We won’t even be able to carry it all.”

She giggled.

“All gold?”

He took a swig straight from the bottle before offering it to her, but she waved him off.

“Gold? There’s gold… and jewels.”

“Jewels?”

“Diamonds, rubies—enough to fill crates. We’ll be rich. We’ll flee north, buy ourselves titles, become nobles.”

“Nobles? What rank? Baron? Count? Marquis?”

He lay back beside her, bottle in hand.

“Which is highest?”

“How should I know? I don’t deal with nobles.”

“Then a baron.”

He smirked.

“Why a baron?”

“This is Baron Hildesheim’s estate, isn’t it? Baron sounds nice.”

“So we steal a baron’s treasure to buy a baron’s title? What happens when he realizes we robbed him?”

“Don’t worry. The baron and his wife are at a ball tonight. They’re not here.”

“But they’ll chase us the moment they return.”

“Then we’ll make sure they can’t.”

Her smile turned cunning.

“How?”

“We’ll leave them in no state to follow. Too… distracted.”

“What’s your plan?”

“You’ll see. Just load the treasure by midnight. Fill the carriage, then wait. I’ll handle the rest and meet you.”

“Fine.”

“Don’t forget—take everything valuable.”

“So distrustful… Baroness.”

He pulled her close, and they tumbled back into the sheets.

---

A little girl sat on the stairs, clutching a teddy bear.

“Leticia.”

Two boys approached her—identical twins.

“Why are you sitting here, Leticia?”

“Where’s Hannah, Leticia?”

Johann and Benjamin, the twin sons of Baron Hildesheim.

“I can’t find Mommy,” the girl murmured, cheeks flushed.

She hugged the bear tighter. A crescent-shaped scar marked her forehead—a remnant of a childhood fall onto tree roots.

“Your forehead’s burning, Leticia.”

“You must have a fever.”

The twins took turns pressing their hands to her skin.

“You need hot tea when you’re sick.”

“Come to our room. The nanny left some.”

Benjamin took her hand while Johann carried her bear. Around her neck hung a silver pendant—a birthday gift from the twins.

Leticia was the daughter of Hannah, a maid in the estate. No one knew her father. Since she could walk, she had grown up alongside the twins, treated almost as a sister. The baroness, unable to have more children after the twins, doted on her. Even the teddy bear had been a gift from her.

“Leticia!”

Hannah’s sharp voice cut through the hall.

“Leticia! I told you to stay in your room!”

“Hannah, Leticia’s forehead is hot.”

“She must be sick.”

The twins watched as Hannah seized the girl’s hand.

“Young masters, Leticia needs medicine and rest. You should return to your rooms too.”

“Where are Father and Mother?”

“The baron and his wife aren’t back yet. They said they’d be late, so you must sleep early.”

She ushered the twins into their room, ensuring they were tucked in.

“Hannah, make sure Leticia takes her medicine. Or she’ll get worse.”

Even under the covers, their worry was plain.

“Sweet dreams, young masters.”

With a cold smile, she lifted the candlestick.

Just before leaving, she tilted it.

Oil, spread earlier, glistened on the floor.

The flames caught instantly.

She shut the door, locked it, and hurried away, dragging Leticia behind her.

Screams and pounding echoed from the room. The girl turned back, but Hannah yanked her forward.

“Hah… hah…!”

They sprinted through the estate, smoke already seeping into the halls.

In the courtyard, a carriage waited—the baron’s own, driven by a man gripping the reins.

“Hurry!”

He waved frantically as Hannah and Leticia leapt inside.

The carriage lurched forward.

Through the window, the girl watched flames engulf the estate, painting her wide eyes crimson.

“Faster!”

“I’m trying!”

As they veered onto a mountain path—

“Aaaah—!”

The wheels slipped.

The carriage careened down the slope, rolling violently.

“Mommy—!”

The girl’s scream was swallowed by the crash.

At the bottom, the wreckage lay still.

Then, snow began to fall.

It was winter.
